What Happens If I Participate
You will be asked to review and sign the study-specific consent form prior to your scheduled appointment time. You will be asked to provide background information about yourself and to fill out some brief questionnaires. You will have a standard screen-film mammogram and a digital mammogram taken. You will be asked to return in one year for a follow-up screen-film mammogram, or to provide mammograms from another institution. We estimate that this research study will add an additional 30 minutes to your appointment time. The study lasts for approximately three years, including the one-year follow-up mammogram and follow-up phone contact. There will be no additional costs for the digital mammogram. No compensation for participation will be given.
